Every comeback has a cost.

Sifu’s amulet brings the fighter back after death at the cost of aging. Understanding the difference between age and repeated deaths helps you read a run more clearly.

Why your character gets older

The current mobile listing describes an amulet that revives the fighter with aging as the cost. A death is therefore more than a pause in the fight: it affects the story’s limited-life premise.

The detailed rules below describe Sloclap’s November 18, 2021 explanation of the original campaign. Read them as the design background, and follow the current death screen and tutorial for the mode you are playing.

Age and death counter are different

In that original explanation, the first consecutive death adds one year, the second adds two, and the third adds three. The accumulating counter makes repeated losses more expensive. The same article describes older age as trading maximum health for offensive power.

The age is the result; the counter helps explain the cost of the next resurrection. Do not treat them as the same number.

What that original progression design preserves

Sloclap’s original article describes chapter completion save points and a way to permanently unlock skills through additional experience spending. It also describes the detective board preserving clues and routes. This explains why learning a route can matter beyond a single fight.

Avoid making a reset decision based only on a number. First ask what you learned from the attempt and which section you would now approach differently. The repeatable skill you take into the next attempt is part of progress.

Turn a death into a useful next attempt

  • Name the attack or crowd situation that caused the loss.
  • Separate input discomfort from a misread enemy pattern.
  • Choose one change: spacing, a defensive action, or a shorter response.
  • Test that change in the next attempt before adding more actions.

Before your next round.

Why do I age after dying in Sifu?

The mobile description presents resurrection through an amulet with aging as its cost.

What is the difference between age and death counter?

In Sloclap’s 2021 original campaign explanation, age is the fighter’s current age, while repeated deaths increase the number of years added by subsequent resurrections.

Does the numeric example describe every mobile mode?

The example is explicitly scoped to Sloclap’s 2021 original campaign explanation. Follow your current mode’s tutorial and death screen for its rules.
